✦ THE CHIX VENDOR VILLAGE ✦

Copyright &
Intellectual Property Policy

A guide to protecting creative work, respecting ownership, and reporting intellectual property concerns within the Village.

Last Updated: September 2026
✦   ✦   ✦
RESPECT THE WORK BEHIND THE MAGIC

Creativity Deserves Care.

Behind every logo, photograph, illustration, product, story, and design is someone's work.

The Chix Vendor Village celebrates independent creators and small businesses. Respect for original work is an important part of maintaining a fair and supportive community.

This policy explains how intellectual property is treated throughout the Village and how concerns involving copyrighted, trademarked, or otherwise protected material may be reported.

Create

Share work you created or have permission to use.

Respect

Do not copy, misuse, or falsely claim another person's work.

Protect

Vendors remain responsible for protecting their own intellectual property.

Report

Genuine intellectual property concerns may be reported to the Village.

01
WHO OWNS WHAT

Ownership of Village Content

The Chix Vendor Village website contains creative materials that may be protected by copyright, trademark, trade dress, contract, or other intellectual property rights.

These materials may include:

Village Logos Village Branding Illustrations Graphics Page Designs Icons Maps Written Content Photography Custom Artwork Website Code Quest Artwork Badges Promotional Materials

Village-owned content remains the property of The Chix Vendor Village, Chakra Chix, or the applicable rights holder.

Access to the Village website does not transfer ownership of Village intellectual property to visitors or members.
02
YOUR WORK REMAINS YOURS

Vendor Intellectual Property

Participating vendors generally retain ownership of intellectual property they own and submit to the Village, including their:

Business names
Logos
Product photographs
Original artwork
Written descriptions
Books and written works
Product designs
Branding elements
Promotional graphics
Other original business materials

Participation in The Chix Vendor Village does not transfer ownership of a vendor's intellectual property to the Village.

Vendors are responsible for ensuring that materials they submit or display are materials they own, have permission to use, or are otherwise legally authorized to use.

03
DISPLAYING YOUR BUSINESS

Permission to Use Vendor Materials

When a vendor voluntarily submits logos, photographs, graphics, business descriptions, testimonials, product images, promotional materials, or other content for participation in The Chix Vendor Village, the vendor grants the Village a limited, non-exclusive permission to use those materials as reasonably necessary to operate and promote the vendor's participation.

This permission may include using submitted materials in:

🏡

Village Storefronts

Business pages, directories, maps, listings, galleries, and vendor features.

Village Promotion

Social media posts, email promotions, event materials, spotlights, announcements, and Village marketing.

Website Formatting

Reasonable resizing, cropping, formatting, compression, or layout adjustments needed for Village displays.

Community Features

Applicable event, promotion, collaboration, or community participation materials.

This is not an ownership transfer.

The purpose of this permission is to allow The Chix Vendor Village to display and promote the vendor's participation in the Village.

04
USE WHAT YOU ARE ALLOWED TO USE

Vendor Responsibility for Submitted Content

Vendors are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary rights, permissions, licenses, or authorizations for content submitted to or promoted through the Village.

Vendors should not submit materials that unlawfully use or reproduce another person's:

Copyrighted Artwork Photography Logos Trademarks Characters Written Content Product Designs Branding Music Licensed Images

Vendors are also responsible for determining whether their products, designs, packaging, listings, or promotional content comply with applicable intellectual property laws.

Not Permitted
05
COUNTERFEIT & UNAUTHORIZED GOODS

Counterfeit or Infringing Products

The Chix Vendor Village does not permit vendors to knowingly use the Village to promote counterfeit goods, intentionally infringing products, unauthorized reproductions, or products falsely represented as authentic.

Examples may include products that unlawfully reproduce protected logos, artwork, characters, trademarks, designs, or other intellectual property without appropriate permission.

Serious or repeated intellectual property violations may result in content removal, suspension, or termination of Village participation.
06
SIMILAR DOES NOT ALWAYS MEAN COPIED

Similar Products, Trends & Ideas

Vendors within the same industry may naturally offer products with similar themes, styles, materials, colors, trends, product categories, or general concepts.

The Chix Vendor Village cannot determine ownership of a broad business idea, general aesthetic, trend, concept, product category, or commonly used theme merely because two businesses offer something similar.

Example:

Two vendors may both sell celestial jewelry, mystery bundles, handmade candles, bookish products, resin pieces, stickers, or seasonal items without one necessarily infringing the other.

Intellectual property concerns involving legally protected artwork, writing, trademarks, logos, photographs, product designs, or other protected material should be evaluated based on the specific rights involved.

07
THE VILLAGE NAME & LOOK

Use of Village Branding

Vendors may identify themselves as participants in The Chix Vendor Village and may use Village-provided badges, graphics, or promotional materials in accordance with instructions provided by the Village.

Village branding should not be altered or used in a way that falsely suggests:

× Ownership of The Chix Vendor Village
× A formal partnership that does not exist
× Employment by the Village
× Official endorsement of every product
× Authorization to act on behalf of the Village
× Continued membership after participation ends

The Village may request removal or correction of Village branding that is being used inaccurately or without authorization.

08
USING OUR WEBSITE CONTENT

Permitted & Prohibited Use

Temporarily hide content while reviewing

11
OUR ROLE HAS LIMITS

The Village Is Not an Intellectual Property Court

The Chix Vendor Village is not a court, intellectual property tribunal, law firm, or governmental intellectual property office.

Some intellectual property disputes involve complex questions of ownership, registration, licensing, fair use, similarity, originality, consumer confusion, or other legal issues that cannot reasonably be decided by the Village.

The Village may decline to make a legal determination and may direct the parties to resolve the dispute through appropriate legal, marketplace, professional, or governmental channels.

Good-Faith Reports Only
12
USE THE PROCESS RESPONSIBLY

False or Abusive Reports

Intellectual property reporting tools should not be used to harass competitors, interfere with another vendor's business, retaliate against another person, or make claims known to be false or misleading.

The Village may decline to process abusive, incomplete, repetitive, clearly unsupported, or bad-faith complaints.

Misuse of the reporting process by a Village member may also be considered under the Community Guidelines and other applicable Village policies.

13
WHEN CONTENT IS REMOVED

Content Removal & Vendor Participation

The Chix Vendor Village may remove, hide, restrict, or decline to display content when the Village reasonably believes the content violates this policy, another Village policy, applicable law, or a valid third-party rights claim.

Serious or repeated violations may result in additional action, including suspension or termination of membership.

Removal of content from the Village does not determine legal ownership and does not prevent a rights holder or vendor from pursuing other remedies available to them.

14
AS OUR VILLAGE GROWS

Changes to This Policy

The Chix Vendor Village may update this Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy as the Village evolves, new features are introduced, or applicable legal and platform requirements change.
