OUR VILLAGE PROMISE

Kindness Lives Here.

There is room in the Village for all of us to grow.

The Chix Vendor Village was created to be more than a directory. It is a community where independent businesses can be discovered, supported, celebrated, and connected.

Every Villager helps shape the atmosphere of this community. These guidelines exist to protect the welcoming, collaborative spirit we are building together.

🏡

Welcome to Our Village

By participating in The Chix Vendor Village, members agree to treat fellow vendors, customers, organizers, visitors, and community members with respect.

These Community Guidelines apply to participation throughout The Chix Vendor Village, including Village website features, community spaces, events, promotions, social interactions, collaborations, and other activities connected with the Village.

They should be read together with the Vendor Agreement, Membership Terms & Cancellation Policy, Terms of Use, and other applicable Village policies.

HOW WE SHOW UP

Our Village Values

Kindness

Speak to others with the same care and respect you would hope to receive.

Community

Celebrate one another, participate when you can, and help make the Village stronger together.

Integrity

Represent your business, products, collaborations, and interactions honestly.

Respect

Respect people's businesses, boundaries, ideas, privacy, time, and creative work.

01
THE GOLDEN RULE

Be Kind & Respectful

Villagers are expected to communicate respectfully with fellow vendors, customers, Village organizers, and community members.

Disagreement is sometimes unavoidable. Disrespect is not. Differences in opinion should be handled calmly and professionally.

✦ We encourage
  • Constructive conversations
  • Encouragement and support
  • Respectful disagreement
  • Giving others the benefit of respectful communication
  • Handling concerns privately when appropriate
× We don't allow
  • Personal attacks
  • Name-calling or insults
  • Threats or intimidation
  • Bullying or targeted hostility
  • Repeated antagonistic behavior
02
COMMUNITY OVER COMPETITION

Support, Don't Tear Down

The Village brings many different businesses into one community. Some Villagers may sell similar products or serve similar audiences. That is okay.

Vendors may not use Village spaces or their participation in the Village to intentionally damage another member's reputation, encourage harassment, organize public attacks, or interfere with another vendor's business.

Another business succeeding does not take away your opportunity to succeed.

Healthy competition is welcome. Hostility, sabotage, targeted negativity, or attempts to turn community members against another vendor are not.

03
EVERYONE DESERVES RESPECT

No Harassment or Discrimination

The Chix Vendor Village is committed to maintaining a welcoming community.

Harassment, bullying, discrimination, threats, intimidation, stalking, targeted abuse, or hateful conduct directed toward another person or group is not permitted.

This includes conduct occurring through Village spaces or in connection with Village participation that creates a reasonable safety or community concern.

Serious harassment, threats, discriminatory conduct, or behavior that creates a safety concern may result in immediate removal from The Chix Vendor Village.
04
AROUND THE VILLAGE

Keep Community Spaces Welcoming

The Village may include interactive community features such as questions, comments, photo sharing, activities, community boards, the Tree of Kindness, events, member features, or other spaces where Villagers can participate.

Content shared in these areas should be appropriate for the purpose of the space and respectful of the broader Village community.

Keep comments respectful and relevant.
Share only photos or content you have permission to share.
Respect the purpose of each community feature.
Avoid repeatedly posting the same promotional message.
Do not use community spaces to continue personal disputes.
Do not intentionally disrupt activities or conversations.

The Chix Vendor Village may moderate, hide, or remove community content that violates these guidelines or is inappropriate for the applicable community space.

05
BUSINESS BETWEEN VILLAGERS

Respect Each Other's Businesses

Being part of the same community does not give members ownership of another vendor's work, ideas, customer relationships, collaborations, or business information.

Creative Work

Respect original artwork, photography, graphics, written content, branding, product designs, and other creative work.

Collaborations

Clearly communicate expectations, responsibilities, payments, deadlines, and permissions when collaborating with another business.

Boundaries

Respect when another Villager declines a collaboration, promotion, trade, purchase, or other business request.

Fair Competition

Similar businesses can coexist. Do not impersonate another vendor or intentionally misrepresent an affiliation with another Village business.

A note about similar ideas:

Businesses within the same industry may naturally offer similar products, themes, trends, or concepts. The Village cannot determine ownership of general business ideas. Concerns involving copyrighted, trademarked, or otherwise protected material should be handled through the appropriate intellectual property process.

06
REPRESENT YOUR BUSINESS WELL

Customer Conduct

Each Village vendor operates their own independent business and remains responsible for their own customers, orders, policies, fulfillment, returns, refunds, and customer service.

Vendors are expected to handle customer concerns professionally and honestly.

The Chix Vendor Village is not responsible for resolving ordinary customer-service disputes between a vendor and their customer. However, serious or repeated complaints involving fraud, unsafe products, deceptive practices, or significant violations of Village policies may be reviewed.

07
RESPECT PRIVACY

Private Information Stays Private

Respect the privacy of fellow Villagers, customers, and community members.

Please do not publicly share another person's:

Home Address Private Phone Number Personal Email Customer Information Payment Information Private Account Details Other Sensitive Information

Private conversations, direct messages, emails, or screenshots should not be posted publicly for the purpose of humiliating, targeting, or encouraging harassment of another Villager.

This does not prevent a member from preserving or privately providing relevant communications when reporting a concern, seeking professional advice, complying with legal obligations, or protecting their legitimate rights.

08
SHARE WITHOUT SPAMMING

Promotion & Community Participation

We want Villagers to be excited about their businesses. Sharing, promoting, participating, and celebrating your work are important parts of the Village.

However, community spaces should remain useful and enjoyable for everyone.

✦ Absolutely!
  • Share when a Village feature invites promotion
  • Participate in spotlights and community activities
  • Celebrate launches and milestones
  • Support and interact with fellow Villagers
× Please avoid
  • Repeated unsolicited advertising
  • Posting identical promotions across unrelated spaces
  • Hijacking another vendor's spotlight to advertise
  • Pressure-based messages or excessive solicitation
09
WHEN SOMETHING GOES WRONG

Handling Disagreements

We understand that disagreements can happen, even in a supportive community.

1

Communicate Calmly

When appropriate and safe, try to resolve ordinary misunderstandings respectfully and privately.

2

Don't Create a Public Pile-On

Village spaces should not be used to recruit others into personal disputes or encourage public attacks.

3

Contact the Village

If the concern involves Village policies, safety, harassment, fraud, or another serious issue, contact The Chix Vendor Village privately.

Important:

Nothing in these guidelines requires anyone to communicate directly with a person they reasonably believe poses a safety risk. Serious safety concerns should be handled through appropriate channels.

WE'RE HERE TO HELP

Reporting a Concern

If you believe another Villager has seriously violated these guidelines, please contact The Chix Vendor Village privately with as much relevant information as possible.

When appropriate, this may include dates, descriptions, screenshots, order information, or other documentation that helps us understand the concern.

Submitting a report does not guarantee a particular outcome. The Village may review the available information and determine what action, if any, is appropriate under Village policies.

✦ COMMUNITY CARE & ENFORCEMENT ✦

When Guidelines Aren't Followed

Our goal is to protect the community, not to turn every misunderstanding into a punishment.

Depending on the nature, severity, frequency, and circumstances of a violation, The Chix Vendor Village may take action including:

01 Friendly Reminder
02 Formal Warning
03 Content Removal
04 Feature Restrictions
05 Temporary Suspension
06 Membership Removal

The Village is not required to use these actions in a particular order. Serious violations may result in immediate suspension or removal without a prior warning.

Examples may include credible threats, serious harassment, discriminatory conduct, fraud, significant safety concerns, intentional misuse of private information, counterfeit products, or other serious violations of Village policies.

Membership fees may be forfeited when a member is removed for violating Village policies, except where otherwise required by law.
10
OUR ROLE

What the Village Can & Cannot Do

The Chix Vendor Village may review conduct that affects Village participation, community safety, or compliance with Village policies.

However, The Chix Vendor Village is not a court, law enforcement agency, payment processor, or general dispute-resolution service.

We may decline to become involved in private business disputes, personal disagreements, contractual disagreements, intellectual property disputes requiring legal determination, or customer disputes that do not involve a violation of Village policies.

Vendors remain responsible for protecting their own legal and business interests and using appropriate professional, legal, payment, marketplace, or governmental channels when necessary.

11
AS OUR VILLAGE GROWS

Changes to These Guidelines

The Chix Vendor Village may update these Community Guidelines as the Village grows, new community features are introduced, or our policies evolve.

The current version will be posted on The Chix Vendor Village website with its applicable revision date.

Continued participation in the Village after updated guidelines take effect may be subject to the updated guidelines.

OUR COMMUNITY PROMISE

Help Us Keep the Village Wonderful.

We want The Chix Vendor Village to be a place where small businesses feel excited to participate, comfortable asking questions, proud to share what they create, and genuinely happy to see one another succeed.

Be kind. Be creative. Be supportive.
And leave the Village a little brighter than you found it.
